In a significant achievement, Justice Defenders has been acknowledged at the Nairobi Legal Awards. The annual event, honoring excellence in legal practice, awarded Justice Defenders the first runner-up position in the Civil Society Organisation of the Year category.
Nominated in October, Justice Defenders underwent rigorous evaluation, culminating in the gala dinner on 3 November 2023. This recognition underscores our impactful work in public interest litigation, legal education, and the establishment of a pro bono scheme, improving access to justice in Kenya.
The award also comes as we celebrate serving 100,000 clients since we began our work.
We courageously act for a new and better world. We seek to do what hasn’t been done before, or that which we haven’t done before. We intentionally reach into the painful lives of others, from the frailty inside ourselves, to offer a helping hand. We act bravely, take risks, and move forward to a preferred future. One where justice is accessible, reliable, and can be practised best by those who need it most.
