
William Okumu is no ordinary advocate; he is a justice defender helping hundreds of vulnerable people who cannot otherwise access legal representation, writes Paul Ogemba.
In his interview with Africa Legal, he shares his takeaways of the criminal justice system. Having been in conflict with the law himself, he's experienced the pain people who are poor go through trying to access justice. William Okumu joined Justice Defenders as a paralegal before pursuing a law degree through the University of London’s international programme. He now serves at the Makadara Office, offering those in the margins access to justice.
