BBC Dear Daughter Podcast Featuring Justice Defenders' Rahab Nyawira

Rahab Nyawira, our Legal Clerk in Kenya, is the focus of the latest episode of the Dear Daughter podcast by @BBC Sounds. Her powerful story offers a rare and moving insight into motherhood behind bars, personal transformation, and the strength it takes to rebuild a life after incarceration.

In conversation with host Namulanta Kombo, Rahab reflects on the pain of being separated from her daughter during her time in prison, and the hope and determination that have guided her journey toward reconciliation and renewed purpose.

Once feared in Lang’ata Women’s Prison, Rahab made a conscious decision to change. Through her training with Justice Defenders, she became a skilled paralegal, a mentor to others, and an ambassador for second chances. Today, she continues to serve her community with humility and courage as a transformed woman and mother.
